As we move along, we will learn the gripping story of the 1997 “Millennium Flood.” This natural disaster, which submerged nearly a third of the city, marked a turning point in local identity, forging a spirit of citizen solidarity that is reflected today in the flawless reconstruction of its riverside promenades.
One of the highlights of this route is the chance to take in the most iconic bridges from a truly unique perspective. We will cross the imposing Grunwaldzki Bridge, an early 20th-century engineering marvel suspended by steel cables, which has become the undisputed symbol of Wroclaw’s skyline.
